A man has been airlifted to hospital after falling ill on a yacht in Newtown Creek.
Solent Coastguard said it was called shortly after 8.30pm last night (Friday) to reports of a man suffering from chest pains.
Cowes RNLI, the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service, Ventnor Coastguard Rescue Team were also called to the scene.
The man was tended by a paramedic from a passing yacht and the winchman from the Coastguard helicopter, who had first been lowered to the lifeboat. Two lifeboat crew members also went on board.
The couple on the yacht were transferred by the lifeboat to the helicopter, which had landed on a nearby shingle beach, where he was then airlifted to Southampton.
