A man and woman remain in custody this afternoon (Tuesday) after being arrested on drug charges in Nettlestone yesterday morning.
At 11.20am yesterday (Monday) officers stopped a BMW along Eddington Road.
The driver, a 38-year-old man, tried to run from police but was detained and arrested on suspicion of possession of Class A drugs with intent to supply, and acquiring criminal property.
Attending officers seized suspected class A drugs, cannabis, cash and a mobile phone during this incident.
As part of this investigation, officers attended an address in Union Street in Ryde where suspected Class A drugs, drugs paraphernalia, mobile phones and other digital devices, and approximately £1,000 cash were seized.
A 54-year-old woman was arrested at the address on suspicion of possession of Class A drugs with intent to supply, and acquiring criminal property.
Searching officers also found a self-loading pistol at the address.
The man and woman were both further arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm without a certificate.
They remain in custody at this time.
