Man Charged Following Ryde Knife Incident

A man has been charged in connection with a knife-related incident in Ryde.

Police were called at 6.50pm on 19 February with reports that a man had thrust a knife towards two members of the public in Anglesea Street.

They were not struck by the knife and did not receive any injuries.

Following enquiries, 36-year-old Rory Corderey-Jones, of Station Street in Ryde, has been charged with attempting to cause grievous bodily harm with intent, and possession of a knife in a public place.

He was remanded in custody to appear at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court on Saturday 22 February.

At the hearing, he was further remanded in custody to appear at Isle of Wight Crown Court on 28 February.
