Man 'Followed Home' After Reports Of Approaching Girls In East Cowes

A man was cleared of criminal activity following reports he had approached two girls in East Cowes at the weekend.

Police were called at 9.37pm on Saturday (10 August) with reports of an incident in East Cowes, whereby it was reported a man had approached two girls in suspicious circumstances.

The man was followed back to an address by members of the public.

Officers attended and spoke to all parties involved in this incident.

A spokesperson for Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary said:

"No criminal offences were reported, however we will continue to respond to any reports of suspicious incidents and concerns in the community to establish the circumstances and take any necessary follow-up action."
