A 73 year-old man was left in the hands of the ambulance service after being rescued from the rocks in Freshwater yesterday (Monday).
The Coastguard and HIW Fire & Rescue team from Ryde and Newport were called at 5.42pm to the incident at Fort Albert, Monks Lane.
The teams used used dry suits and a coastguard rescue sled, with the casualty suffering from hypothermia and shock.
The man was then transferred to Yarmouth Harbour by the RNLI and left in the hands of the Ambulance Service.
