Man Suffers Facial Injuries In Gurnard Pines Incident

A man has suffered facial injuries following an incident at Gurnard Pines on Wednesday (2).

A 36-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of grievious bodily harm with intent, and possession of an offensive weapon. 

Hampshire Constabulary says it was called to an address on Cockleton Lane just after 8pm.

On arrival officers located a 28-year-old with facial injuries.

Police say he attended hospital for treatment and his injuries are not considered serious.

 A Gurnard man remains in custody at this time.

*36-year-old Lance Thomas Hopewell, of Cockleton Lane in Gurnard, has been charged  with causing grievous bodily harm with intent, and possession of an offensive weapon in public (namely, an axe).

He was remanded in custody to appear before the Magistrates this morning.
