A man has thanked hospital, ambulance and coastguard teams on the Isle of Wight after falling and breaking his leg.
Emergency crews were called to a field near St Catherine's Hill last Thursday (8).
Andrew Rowes broke his leg in three places and was left unable to move, when he fell between Niton and Chale.
Paying tribute to his rescuers, Andrew, who lives in Winchester, said:
"My grateful thanks to the brilliant coastguards who came out and rescued me from a field near St Catherine's Hill, when I fell and broke my leg in three places."
Andrew has also thanked staff at St Mary's Hospital in Newport.
He added:
"My thanks also to the wonderful ambulance team who got me to St Mary's very smoothly, in good time, and diagnosed a heart-problem I didn't know I had on the way.
"Thanks also to the fantastic A&E team, the fracture clinic and the AAU staff who swung into action and got me treated straight away.
"I am now receiving further treatment back home in Winchester and face an operation on my leg, but it's thanks to you guys I'm here!
"I count myself very lucky!"
