A ten-year-old boy has been rescued by "members of the public", after getting into trouble in the water off Ryde today (Tuesday).
UK Coastguard says Ryde Rescue lifeboat teams and Bembridge Coastguard were tasked to the seafront at around 1.30pm.
However, crews were not needed after "members of the public" entered the water to save the boy.
The Isle of Wight Ambulance Service were in attendance for fears of secondary drowning. Coastguard says the boy "ingested a lot of water".
Paramedics have since given him the all clear and teams have stood down.
