Coastguard teams and Isle of Wight police were called out to Seaview in the early hours of Saturday morning after reports of a missing person.
Following police enquiries the person was located at Ryde bus station.
A spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary confirmed:
"We were called out at 12.49am on Saturday (23 April) following reports of a missing person from the Seaview area.
"Police conducted enquires, along with the support of the Coastguard, in the local area and located the person at Ryde bus station a short while later. "
Bembridge Coastguard Rescue subsequently Tweeted the following morning (Sunday):
