More accolades Awarded To Calbourne Classics At Royal Isle Of Wight County Show

This years' Royal Isle of Wight County Show awards saw multiple accolades for Calbourne Classics, during its 35th year of serving the local community.

The Royal Isle of Wight County Show is a key event in the agricultural calendar.

The weekend-long event celebrates a myriad of aspects of the Isle of Wight, including local farmers, producers and the community.

Calbourne Classics were warded not only the Countryside Business Award but also the Overall Isle of Wight Rural Business Award.

The awards, which honour those who demonstrate success and achievement from all parts of the Island’s rural economy, come during what is a milestone year for Calbourne Classics.

Founded in 1989 by the late Jill Cawood, 2024 marks 35 years since they became established.

Danny Horne, of the Royal Isle of Wight Agricultural Society, kacknowledged the founder during the presentation.

Jill was a champion for dairy farmers and a well-known figure in the agricultural sector.

She had a dairy herd of her own at Three Gates Farm in Shalfleet and, following her death in 2015, two of her daughters - Louise Hart and Jenny Simmons - received the awards.

In her memory, the Jill Cawood Memorial Cup for Young CaWle Handler was presented by Louise at the show to worthy winner Jess Isaacson.
