A section of Newport High Street has been closed due to a burst water main - causing more travel problems in the town.
The High Street is shut from its junction with St James Street to its junction with Holyrood Street.
It means traffic coming from the direction of McDonald's cannot turn right into the High Street, while traffic coming from the Halfords direction cannot turn left into the High Street.
Southern Water is working to repair the problem.
The diversions are in addition to the current travel restrictions due to the extensive roadworks along St George's Way.
Emergency Closure for High Street, Newport. The closure is necessary to enable Southern Water to carryout emergency repairs @iwight
