There is more chaos for drivers in Ryde this morning (Friday).
Marlborough Road has been shut from Salisbury Road to Westridge junction for emergency gas repairs.
Heading out of Ryde, drivers are being told to go via Appley Road to Pondwell, then back along Bullen Road to Westridge crossroads. An alternative route is through St Helens, via Carpenters Road.
Drivers are also having to use Ashey Road, where there are further traffic temporary lights.
It is not known when Marlborough Road will be reopening.
Great Preston Road also remains closed, adding more frustration for drivers in the town.
