A motorcyclist has been seriously injured after crashing on the outskirts of Shanklin.
Emergency crews - including the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance - were called to Cowleaze Hill last night (Wednesday).
It's understood one vehicle was involved in the incident, which happened on a tight bend.
Firefighters have been helping to clear fuel from the road.
The road was closed for a time, but has since reopened.
Police said:
"We were called by ambulance at 7.48pm. They reported a male came off his motorcycle leading to some serious injuries.
"Air ambulance attended and the casualty was taken to hospital.
"Further enquires are on-going."
