National Reading Day Coming To Ryde

Have you ever thought about joining a reading group or book club?

On September 12 the Isle of Wight Library Service will be celebrating National Reading Group Day, run by national charity "The Reading Agency".

The event will see the library service giving you the chance to try out a reading group to see if you like it.

The reading groups are taking place at Ryde Library at 10.30am, where there will also be refreshments and the chance to chat to library staff and other readers about books and reading.

There are three titles to choose from, two in physical copy:

  • The husbands by Holly Gramazio
  • Slow Horses by Mick Herron

The other - "So Late in The Day" by Claire Keegan - will be available as an e-book through the library’s Borrowbox app, which has thousands of e-books and e-audio books available to read completely free.

If you would like to join in with one of the reading groups, then all you need to do is pop into your local Council-run library and let them know, and a member of staff will get a copy of your chosen book for you and book your place.

If you would like help downloading and using the Borrowbox app a member of staff will be happy to help.

For more details contact the library service on 823824 or email [email protected].
