Wightlink has announced a new commercial director.
Phil Delaney has joined the ferry firm, following Clive Tilley’s retirement.
Previously, Mr Delaney was the commercial director at Great Western Railway (GWR) and held senior roles at Flybe and trainline.com
He said:
“With staycations remaining very popular, ferries are in a strong position to win more customers and I’m looking forward to working with colleagues to develop our business further.
“There are many parallels between the railway and ferry sectors. Both industries face similar challenges to keep customers happy while always operating safely and efficiently.”
Mr Delaney was also a professional rugby player with Leicester Tigers, playing alongside some of the 2003 World Cup winning team.
He added:
“I am delighted to be joining Wightlink at an important time in the company’s history. I look forward to using my career experience to ensure that our customers can continue to travel between the Isle of Wight and the mainland reliably and in comfort.”
