A new area at this year’s Royal Isle of Wight County Show is aiming to encourage visitors to spend more time in the great outdoors.
The Gardening Outdoor Living Area — sponsored by Sydenhams — will include a ‘show garden’ competition and extra trade stands.
The County Show will take place at over the weekend of Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 July at the County Show Ground on Newport Road in Cowes.
Graham Biss, County Show chairman, said:
“Taking inspiration from the world’s best gardening shows, we are inviting local designers, organisations, and charities to showcase their skills and knowledge by creating seven inspirational show gardens.
"Our Garden and Outdoor Living area dovetails extremely well with the existing activities at the County Show and responds to the feedback we received after last year’s show.
"We hope it allows visitors the opportunity to learn more about particular aspects of gardening and the varied outdoor activities which take place on the Island.”
