One of the many new features at this year’s County Show on July 8 and 9 will be the introduction of a dedicated reading area on the Village Green.
The Reading Area has been inspired by the current High Sheriff’s theme, that every child can call themselves a reader and be able to lose themselves in a good book.
High Sheriff Dawn Haig-Thomas said:
"I am delighted that literacy is part of the Royal Isle of Wight County Show this year.
"Please bring your children along for story time with one of our VIP readers.
"It can take just one book to ignite a passion for reading in a child, bringing a lifetime of pleasure."
To make the area extra special throughout the two days of the show a range of well known people will on hand to read to the children.
This year’s Royal Isle of Wight County Show will have something for everyone, from show gardens to trail bikes, sheep being sheared and cows being milked.
