New Trustee Appointed At Brading Roman Villa

Brading Roman Villa Trust has announced the appointment of Dr Ross Thomas as a new trustee.

Dr Thomas is an archaeologist who has undertaken fieldwork on land and underwater across the ancient Hellenistic and Roman worlds.

He has directed archaeological projects on behalf of the British Museum, where he is a curator in the Department of Greece and Rome.

Dr Thomas, who grew up in Brading, is currently involved in a fieldwork project at Hadrian’s villa, Italy, and directs excavations at Naukratis, Egypt.

With broad experience and strong relationships with international institutions, antiquities services and learned societies, he has served on several boards and is keenly aware of the role and responsibilities of charitable trusts.

Stewart White, chairman of Brading Roman Villa Trust, said:

“We are delighted to have Ross as a trustee given his wealth of archaeological experience in the field, his work at the British Museum and his personal links with Brading and the Isle of Wight.

"We look forward to welcoming him to the board”
