Police have arrested a man from Newport on suspicion of drug-driving today (Monday).
The 37-year-old, who was driving a silver Vauxhall Corsa, tested positive for Cocaine in Furrlongs, Newport.
He had first been stopped for failing to wear a seatbelt, and one of his tyres was subsequently found to defective.
A spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary said:
"A vehicle was stopped in Furrlongs, Newport. A 37-year-old man from Newport has been arrested on suspicion of drug-driving and remains in custody at this time."
