Newport's Riverside Vaccination Centre is shutting its doors - for now at least.
Since opening in February, the hub and its army of volunteers have contributed to the near 200,000 jabs handed out across the Island.
Angela Anderson, Clinical Director of the Vaccination Programme at Solent NHS Trust said:
“We are incredibly grateful to all the volunteers and staff who have worked at the Riverside Centre since it opened in February of this year; the response from people who have visited the centre to receive their vaccination has been incredibly positive.
Angela added: “Our people at the Riverside Centre and GPs on the Island have now given over 200,000 vaccines to people on the Island. We need everyone to come forward and take up the evergreen offer of a jab which is why we are calling everyone aged 18 and over to get fully vaccinated.”
The centre is closing today (Thursday) but is expected to reopen again in the form of pop-up clinics.
