Newport's Vecta House Celebrates Easter In Style

Staff and residents at Barchester’s Vecta House care home, in Newport, celebrated Easter in style this year.

Residents were treated to host of activities including an Easter themed coffee morning and an Easter egg hunt.

Easter themed art classes saw residents make Easter chick decorations to their weekly coffee morning group where they enjoyed delicious hot cross buns.

Easter day residents received a chocolate bunny from staff and enjoyed the beautiful sunshine with a hunt in the garden.

Residents also tucked into a meal of roast lamb followed by cake prepared by the home’s chef Robert Pearce.

Harold, a resident at Vecta House, said:

“It has been so lovely to spend time with our families, though like every Easter I think I’ve eaten too much chocolate!

"I really enjoyed the egg hunt in the sunshine."

The home's varied life enrichment programme keeps residents active, and provides a daily choice of engaging physical, mental and spiritual activities tailored to residents’ interests and abilities.
