Night Of Stars To Celebrate Isle Of Wight NHS Trust Fundraisers

A night of stars will celebrate staff at the Isle of Wight NHS Trust tonight (Saturday).

A special event is being held at Gurnard Pines to raise money for the NHS Charitable funds.

It's being run by the NHS Spartans football team, who have gathered a host of items for a charity auction.

Paul Hemmett - Hub Duty Manager at the Ambulance service - says the Spartans is more than just a team:

"It's now full of staff from across the NHS Trust o the Island. We've gone from walking down corridors not knowing people, to stopping and asking how each other is doing.

"The event will raise money for the Charitable Funds, with all money raised staying on the Island."

Mandy Blackler, Head of Corporate Nursing Development at the Isle of Wight NHS Trust, added:

"We must say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported us.  We are billing it as a night of stars because the staff have been real stars throughout the pandemic, especially the lads with the charity football matches, who continue to raise money.

"Local businesses have been absolutely amazing in supporting us too. The night is a chance for everyone to dress up and have a really good night."

An auction, with a host of items donated by local businesses - along with Premier League football signed shirts and memorabilia - will be hosted by Isle of Wight Radio's Paul Topping and Jamie White.
