NOSY's Creative Clean Up Of Popular Newport Park

Creative colleagues at NOSY have been on a mission to tidy some of the Island’s popular recreational spaces.

The team, who provide purpose-driven marketing and design services, were joined by other helpers for their latest ‘Rubbish Networking’ event last week.

Armed with bin bags and litter pickers, the group spent the morning clearing rubbish from Newport’s Victoria Recreation Ground.

“Protecting and enhancing our environment is at the heart of our work and it’s important for us to do all we can to help keep the Island litter free,” said April Turner, NOSY Operations Director.

“This was our third event of the year and it has been great to welcome other like-minded people, all driven by a shared commitment to making a positive impact on the environment.

“We are very lucky to have so many lovely open spaces on the Island and we want to play our part in looking after them.”

Over ten bags of rubbish were collected at the park on Friday, with the event’s supporter, Betapak, disposing of it at a local waste centre.

It followed other collections earlier this year at Newport’s Seaclose Park and Ryde beach. In total, NOSY has organised nine Rubbish Networking events to date.

Jonathan Thornton, CEO at PC Consultants, has supported several of these events.

He said:

“These opportunities are really valuable and it’s great to come together with others to help keep our Island looking its best.

“Thanks to NOSY for organising them and I would really recommend coming along to the next one, as it’s a great way to network and have fun, while doing something positive for our local environment.”
