Old Charlton House care home in Cowes, has celebrated one of its residents reaching the grand age of 100!
Beryl was absolutely thrilled to receive her card from the King and Queen and showed it to everyone in the home with pride.
The centenarian celebrated with a friend having lunch with her, after which her family visited and helped her open her cards and presents and shared the joy.
The residents all wore party hats, and the dining room and her bedroom were decorated with banners and balloons.
The chef, Lynn, created a fabulous lemon cake which is her favourite, and everyone sang "Happy Birthday" to her.
The Boogie Woogie Sisters provided entertainment in the afternoon with everyone singing along.
They sang some of Beryl's favourites, which she likes to sing on a daily basis.
Following the singing, Beryl and her family enjoyed a delicious cream tea again provided by Chef Lynn.
Beryl said:
“It was such a special day; I wish that I could have it all over again.
"I can’t pick out a favourite bit - it was all wonderful”.
