Opening Date For Newport's Recently-Relocated RSPCA Store

Newport's RSPCA charity shop is reopening its doors - at a new location.

Staff are welcoming visitors to its new Carisbrooke Road store from tomorrow (Saturday).

The charity was forced to leave its previous home in St James’ Street, after it was served notice by the landlord.

All money raised from the shop will go towards caring for animals at the charity’s rehoming and wildlife centre in Godshill. The charity, which receives no direct finding from the national RSPCA charity, relies on donations and funds raised through its four charity shops, located in Newport, Ventnor, Cowes and Sandown.

“It’s been a busy few weeks but thanks to the hard work of our staff and dedicated volunteers we are ready to open the doors to our new store and welcome customers old and new,” said Suzanne Pugh, RSPCA Isle of Wight Branch Manager.

“We are also hugely grateful to everyone who has donated items for us to sell, the shop is a key fundraising resource for us, helping us to pay for food, medical costs and shelter for the animals in our care. Thank you to all our supporters.”

The new shop has on-street parking to the front and a paid public car park at the rear, it is also well served by the local bus service. The store opens its doors at 10am on Saturday with an official opening at 10.30am in the presence of volunteers and supporters.

The shop will be open Monday to Saturday between 10am and 4.30pm.
