The Royal Navy Bomb Disposal Team was called to a property in Shanklin last night (Monday).
The discovery of a piece of ordnance in the garden of a home in Clarence Gardens.
The team arrived on scene shortly before 7pm.
A Royal Navy spokesperson told Isle of Wight Radio:
"We can confirm a Navy Explosive Ordnance Disposal team was called out to Shanklin at the request of local police.
"A team from responded to the call out in question and the item was safely removed by the bomb disposal expert."
