Emergency services have been called to the main road between Newport and Cowes this morning (Thursday) following a crash involving a motorcycle and pedestrian.
The incident took place shortly after 6am on the A3020 Horsebridge Hill near the junction with Noke Common and saw the injured pedestrian taken to St Mary's Hospital.
Police have closed the road in both directions between Forest Road and Noke Common with all traffic being diverted via Whitehouse Road and Pallance Road until further notice.
This has led to severe lanes for those travelling between Newport and Cowes.
Road closures have been put in place at Forest Road, Noke Common and Stag Lane.
