Firefighters have been tackling a fire which broke out on the surface of a road yesterday (Tuesday).
The fire was being fed by a ruptured gas pipe, according to the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service.
Crews were called to Quay Lane in Brading at around 7.45pm.
Firefighters worked alongside engineers from SGN to prevent it from spreading along a hedgerow.
BW attended a road on fire yesterday evening, not something you see everyday! The fire was being fed by a ruptured gas pipe. We worked in conjunction with SGN to ensure the fire continued to burn as it is much safer this way but also preventing it spreading along the hedgerow 🚒 pic.twitter.com/27ypN7DQSy
