Police were called to a Newport cemetery yesterday (Saturday) following the discovery of a body — the second such call-out of the day.
Police were called at 11.51am after the body of an 81-year-old man was found at Carisbrooke Cemetery on Whitcombe Road, Newport.
His next of kin have been informed.
A spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary confirmed:
"The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file is being prepared for the coroner."
