The police helicopter has been seen in circling above Shanklin and Lake this evening (Sunday).
Isle of Wight Radio listeners say the helicopter has been circling the towns.
Sandown Lifeboat and Bembridge Coastguard have also been called out this evening, which is understood to be connected.

Isle of Wight Radio has been told that there is concern for the welfare of a person.
Wight SAR – the Island’s volunteer search and rescue team – are also working to locate the person.
Ventnor Coastguard is also involved in the search for a person - believed to be male.
The search is currently happening between Lake and Culver Cliff, on land and sea.
UPDATED 9.30pm
The search area is now also focused on Wroxall and Ventnor.
A spokesperson for HM Coastguard told Isle of Wight Radio:
“We’re assisting the police in a search for a missing person.
“Ventnor and Bembridge coastguard rescue teams, Sandown and Shanklin independent lifeboat, the police and a police helicopter have all be sent.”

It’s understood the person has been located and is with police. Emergency teams are standing down.
