Police are investigating after a boy was offered sweets and asked to get into a car by a person he didn't know in Newport yesterday (Thursday).
A spokesperson for Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary said:
"We received a report at 5.42pm yesterday of a suspicious incident in Newport.
"Police were told that between 3.55pm and 4pm yesterday a boy was offered sweets and asked to get in a vehicle by a person he did not know.
"The local Neighbourhood Team have been made aware.
"Officers will be visiting the nearby Carisbrooke College and making enquiries in the area.
"We continue to encourage anyone who witnesses suspicious behaviour to report this to police on 101.
"Dial 999 if a crime is in progress or someone is in danger."
