It’s not just the authors at this year’s Isle of Wight Literary Festival who will be household names.
Festival organisers have pulled in a number of celebrity interviewers to question the star authors during the four-day event from October 3 to 6.
BBC news presenter Sophie Raworth will be talking to her friend and running partner Susie Chan about Susie’s new book Trails and Tribulations – The Running Adventure of Susie Chan, on the Saturday of the festival.
Television gardening guru and Island resident Alan Titchmarsh has agreed to interview Countdown star Susie Dent about her debut novel Guilty by Definition, which includes the secret lives of everyday words, all woven seamlessly into an intriguing plot of a mystery that has lingered for years.
And another star with Isle of Wight connections, Anneka Rice, will be talking to author and television celebrity Clare Balding about her new offering Isle of Dogs - which examines Brits’ love of canines.
TV journalist and Seaview resident Harriet Hadfield will interview her industry colleague Louise Minchin about Louise’s first thriller, Isolation Island.
In it, Louise draws on her inside knowledge of reality shows such as I’m A Celebrity to devise a show with a universally recognisable set-up, but where real darkness lurks behind the gloss of primetime entertainment.
Harriet will also be speaking to Kerry Daynes about What Lies Buried, an eye-opening insight into the life of a forensic psychologist.
