There are some delays on Red Funnel services today (Friday).
The cross-Solent operator has said there is a problem with the main deck linkspan in East Cowes.
As a result, there are delays to sailings of between 20-40 minutes.
Leanna Lakes, Operations Director at Red Funnel, said:
“We have a problem with one of the fingers on the main deck linkspan at our East Cowes terminal. Our team are working hard to fix the problem and repairs are underway.
"Our vehicle ferry service to Southampton will continue using the upper deck, but there will be some temporary delays.
"We are sorry for the inconvenience this may cause to some customers and will be updating our website and social media channels once we have resolved the issue and the service is back on track.”
Vehicle Ferry delayed by 20-40 mins due to the operational impact of a linkspan defect resulting in only being able to load/unload one deck at a time in East Cowes. We are working on a solution and we apologise for the inconvenience that this has caused.
