An 'engine fault' saw Red Funnel passengers temporarily stuck in the middle of the Solent this morning (Saturday).
Isle of Wight Radio has been told the problem occurred on the 8.30am Red Falcon sailing to Southampton.
Passengers say one of the car ferry's engines had failed, and efforts were underway to 'fix' it.
It’s understood the sailing reduced its speed while the issue was sorted, just before 9am.
Passengers say it returned to its normal speed shortly after.
