Red Funnel has published its new winter timetable for the vehicle ferry.
The winter season runs from (2 November 2021 – 3 March 2022) and will see services return closer to its pre-COVID schedule, with sailings approximately every 90 minutes.
The new timetable is designed to allow Red Funnel to elevate its routine vessel maintenance during the winter, with the aim of sustaining service reliability – the former 22:30 departure from Southampton and 22:55 from East Cowes have been removed, but with later evening sailings added to its Red Jet service.
The company recently announced an expanded Red Jet timetable, including additional late-night sailings including 21:35 and 22:55 departures from Southampton, along with 22:15 and 23:35 departures from West Cowes, which will help ensure service coverage.
The release of the winter timetable allows islanders to plan-ahead for future travel, including the upcoming Christmas holidays, which are expected to be busier than usual this year as friends and family make up for lost time due to Covid restrictions in 2020.
Red Funnel has also confirmed it will offer its annual Christmas Day service, with two departures from each side of the Solent.
