Coastguard and lifeboat teams have been called to reports of a person in the sea off the Isle of Wight today (Thursday).
HM Coastguard helicopter and Yarmouth RNLI are involved in the incident, off Yarmouth.
A spokesperson for HM Coastguard said:
"Just before 11.10am today (November 5), HM Coastguard received a report of a possible person in the water off Yarmouth, Isle of Wight.
"The Coastguard search and rescue helicopter from Lee-on-Solent has been sent as well as the RNLI lifeboats from Lymington and Yarmouth.
"The incident is ongoing and there's no further information at this time."
Last night (Wednesday), a search and rescue effort was launched after reports of a person in the water near Hurst Castle.
Yarmouth RNLI Lifeboat and the Needles Coastguard Rescue Team were involved in the search, alongside police and colleagues from Lymington.
