This year's Rhythmtree Festival won't be going ahead, with organisers citing rising costs at the cause of the postponement.
The popular annual three-day summer celebration held its tenth anniversary show last summer with an expansive weekend at Sticelett Farm in Thorness (located between Porchfield and Gurnard).
Organisers say they are doing everything possible to bring the festival back in 2024.
A statement released by the festival this afternoon (Friday) said:
"Dear Rhythmtree Friends & Family,
"We want to start by thanking all of you that have supported us over these difficult few years.
"From our original home at Three Gates Farm to our most recent, beautiful site at Sticelett Farm; you have been there for us.
"However, while running an independent festival is rewarding, unfortunately, it comes with its challenges.
"The festival ecosystem has changed due to numerous issues, some temporary and some more long-term — such as the rising cost of fuel and artist fees, production and labour costs — all while people are enduring a cost-of-living crisis.
"This financial pressure has meant our small team has had to take the very difficult decision to postpone the festival in 2023 to protect the life and longevity of Rhythmtree.
"We want you all to know we are doing everything possible to ensure Rhythmtree Festival returns in full for 2024.
"This has been the hardest discussion to date and one we haven't taken lightly."
Organisers will be announcing limited tickets for some intimate gigs at the Sticelett Farm site in July.
The news comes less than a fortnight after another popular event — Sandown's Hullabaloo — was also put on hold until 2024.
