Several of the Island's key routes are being affected by surface water this morning, with some 'flooded', as heavy rain continues to battle the South Coast.

Isle of Wight Radio listeners report that the main road between Ventnor and Whitwell is under several inches of water, with drivers reportedly having to 'ford' through sections of the route.

Southern Vectis is diverting buses due to the severity of the flooding.

Nearby Southford Lane, linking Newport Road with Whitwell Road is also said to be extremely flooded.

Elsewhere, listeners report issues in the approaches to Brading and in areas of Rookley.
