Strike action by Royal Mail workers has been cancelled today (Friday) following the news of the death of Queen Elizabeth II.
The Communication Workers Union (CWU) has confirmed all industrial action planned for 9 September has been called off.
Members of the CWU were preparing to walk out on Thursday and Friday this week, as well as on September 30 and October 1 in a dispute over pay and conditions.
In a statement on their website, Royal Mail said:
"We have received notification from the CWU union that they are calling off their industrial action planned for 9 September.
"CWU members are taking strike action on 30 September and 1 October 2022. We’re sorry for the disruption this is likely to cause you. We’re doing what we can to keep services running, but customers should expect significant disruption."
