The RSPCA Isle of Wight is appealing to Islanders to get behind their local animal charity this Christmas.
Branch Director at the Rescue Centre in Godshill, Steve Backhouse, said:
“At this time of the year, we are especially grateful of the support of our Island community.
"If you love animals and live on the Isle of Wight, we ask to seriously consider donating to us.”
This Island charity is supported, but not funded by, the RSPCA and this year, as the cost-of-living crisis deepened, the need for help to care for the Island’s most vulnerable animals has increased.
Steve continues:
“We really need help to give all the animals in our care, the Christmas, and the future, they deserve.”
Animals like Isla the tiny stray black cat who was fed for a time by the staff at Isle of Wight Radio before being taken in by the RSPCA.
She was just a year old when she produced three beautiful kittens in the shelter.
They have all been placed in homes now, but little Isla is still waiting for someone to adopt her.
Says Steve:
“Just £20 will feed a dog for a fortnight, including their Christmas Dinner and treats and £50 will pay for a vet check and vaccinations for a cat like little Isla.
"But please give what you can. And remember that every penny remains here on the Island.”
Donations can be made online.
