Have you got a spare couple of million pounds tucked behind the couch and feel like owning a historical Isle of Wight attraction?
Then you might want to consider bidding for Calbourne Water Mill — which is set to go to auction next month with a starting price of £1.75m.
The 14.2 acre site will officially go under the hammer on the afternoon of Thursday October 26 as lot number 21.
The auction house is being held in Nottingham, with remote and telephone bidders also invited to get involved.
Auction Estates Limited, the company charged with completing the sale, describe it as:
"An opportunity to acquire a popular tourist attraction comprising the only working Water Mill on the Isle of Wight.
"An ideal investment opportunity with potential to add value."
The 20-bedroom Water Mill has existed for around 1,000 years and was first mentioned in the doomsday book in the year 1086, making it an original Isle of Wight destination.
The mill is still working and has supplied flour and animal feeds to Islanders over many years.
We have contacted the Water Mill for further information on what prompted the prospective sale.
