Ryde Artists Team Up For "From The Seed" Library Exhibition

Two talented Isle of Wight artists have joined forces for a spellbinding exhibition at Ryde Library.

Poppy Moon and Anna Fauzy-Ackroyd — both residents of the town — will have their artwork on display for the duration of May.

The theme title, ‘From the Seed’, reflects both Poppy and Anna’s connections with nature through intuitive painting; the seed of creativity that takes form when the intuitive mind is given the opportunity to express itself.

There are also materials provided in the exhibition space for doodling.

About the artists:

Poppy is a surrealism and portraiture artist who paints intuitively to create surreal scenes abstracted from nature, embellished with gold leaf.

She has been drawing all her life but formally studied art at the Isle of Wight College, Falmouth School of Art and Plymouth college of Art where she completed her degree in painting, drawing and print making in 2021.

Anna paints in free expression creating energy art with oil on canvas.

The paintings emerge from a state of flow and enjoyment of the colours and forms with no expectation in the outcome.

Anna has also contributed to the Earth Pathways Diary.

Both artists will be taking part in Ryde Open Studios which will be running from Wednesday 13 to Sunday 17 September.

  • Wednesday: 10.30am – 7 pm
  • Saturday: 9am – 5pm
