A man remains in custody this afternoon (Tuesday) following a foiled burglary in Sandown last night.
Police were called at 7.56pm to reports of a burglary in progress at an address on Cliff Path.
The offenders were disturbed so did not gain entry or steal anything, and one man was detained by a member of the public near to the address.
Officers attended and arrested a 23-year-old man from Sandown on suspicion of burglary, going equipped for burglary and possession of Class A drugs.
Attending officers seized a rucksack full of tools and some yellow pills.
Enquiries into the incident remain ongoing and the arrested man remains in custody.
