Wildheart Animal Sanctuary's Sarah Whitter has undertaken her greatest challenge yet.
The volunteer had her lustrous locks lopped off to raise money for new rescued tigers Softi and Toph.
After hearing about their horrendous plight on a terror transport to Russia, Sarah decided she wanted to shock people into fundraising for these
wonderful animals.
Sarah is a huge supporter of the Sanctuary who over the years has raised a tremendous amount to care for and rehabilitate the rescued animals from their previous traumas.
Despite some last minute nerves, Sarah bravely had the cut last weekend which you can watch in full on their Facebook page: The
Wildheart Trust.
Softi and Toph were discovered starving and terrified in the back of a horse box with 8 other tigers, destined for a fate unknown in Russia.
One Tiger had unfortunately already succumbed to the horrendous conditions, being found dead in her crate.
Rescued at the border, their journey is now complete as they can live out their lives in safety at the Sanctuary in Sandown.
