New organisers have stepped in to save Brighstone Christmas Tree Festival.
It was announced the event would be shelved after founder Chris Goodman said he would be retiring following 22 years at the helm.
A smaller event was due to be held at Isle of Wight Pearl. It has since been confirmed the same venue will host a bigger festival, with around 70 trees on show this year.
The event is expected to expand to other venues next year.
Emily Waters, of Little Luna Events will be filling Chris' boots, alongside Diane Woodhouse, who comes from a background in sales and events with the Isle of Wight Council.
They said:
"We are both incredibly excited to be taking on this island grown event which benefits many local charities and good causes."
The pair are teaming up with Lizzie Wade, and the team at Isle of Wight Pearl.
Chris Goodman said:
"I would just say that it has been a privilege to work with a fantastic team and to organise this joyful event over many years and I am confident that the future of the Brighstone Tree Festival is in good hands.
"I wish the new enthusiastic organisers all the best for the future."
