A search and rescue effort is underway after reports of a person in the water near Hurst Castle this evening (Wednesday).
Yarmouth RNLI lifeboat and the Needles Coastguard Rescue Team are involved in the search, alongside mainland colleagues from Lymington.
HM Coastguard said that the Coastguard helicopter and Hampshire Police are also tasked to the search, which began after reports were made at 8.30pm.
