A man has sustained 'major injuries' in a crash in the Shide area of Newport.
Emergency services were called to Shide Road just after 2.30am this morning (Tuesday) after a Mercedes A-Class crashed into concrete bollards.
A spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary said:
"We were called out to an incident at 2.23am this morning, (July 28), following a single-vehicle collision on Shide Road, Newport.
"A Mercedes veered into concrete bollards on either side of the road. A man was taken to St Mary's Hospital with major injuries.
"No arrests have been made at this stage, pending further investigation."
