An Isle of Wight author has released the second instalment of her Island-based children’s fantasy series.
Anna Southwell, from Shanklin, is the brains behind Oliver Gruffle — Secrets of Harmony Haven – Book 2: The Scarab King.
The visually impaired author writes her books using a typewriter.
The Scarab King was inspired by her love of Egypt and features talking animals.
Anna said:
"I always hoped to have been able to visit (Egypt) as the culture draws me like a magnet."
Discussing shores closer to home, she says of the Isle of Wight:
"I love the community spirit, I have made some loving friendships at Sight for Wight who support the blind and visually impaired and who have wonderful, caring volunteers.
"My life has been enriched by meeting the people who go there!"
The author will donate some profits of her book sales to Island charities.
The Scarab King is available to purchase at a cost of £6.99 from Isle of Wight Traders in Newport or online via Amazon.
