Slime Squelching To Newport For Quay Arts Kids Show

A playful interactive adventure is heading to Quay Arts' Minghella Theatre on Sunday April 24.

Slime is a show for young children and families who can expect to get stuck in with the homemade gooey phenomenon, as they help Slug and Caterpillar work together to form an unlikely friendship.

The show is set in a giant garden in which the audience are shrunk to the perspective of creepy crawlies.

Performers use a handful of words, with everything communicated using British sign language.

Slug and Caterpillar are starving and the only leaf left in the garden is just out of reach. Slug thinks they should work together, but caterpillar has other ideas.

After the show, Slug leaves a large amount of slime for the audience to play with,

Director, Ruby Thompson, said:

“We are delighted to host a unique theatrical experience for the very young.

"During the show, children and their grown-ups can be as loud as they want — giggle, dance, wriggle and talk!”

The show has been produced and performed by Hull based Herd Theatre, which specialises in creating interactive content for young children.

Slime has a running time of 45 minutes, with an additional 15 minutes set aside afterwards for subsequent 'Slime play.'

The show is suitable for those aged between two and five years old.

Tickets are available online or by calling the Quay Arts box office on 822490.
