Emergency works has led to the closure of Smallbrook Lane today (Wednesday).
Island Roads says the Ryde route is shut from outside Sharon Orchard for a distance of 316 metres in a easterly direction.
The closure is necessary to allow for Southern Gas Networks to carry out repairs.
A diversion will affect Ashey Road, Swanmore Road, West Street, Green Street, St Johns Road, St Johns
Hill, Alexandra Road, Great Preston Road.
